Hair Loss in Children
Hair loss in children and teenage hair loss is more wide-spread
than people imagine. In a school class with 30 students, in
average, one student will suffer from some kind of hair loss.
The hair loss causes of children are primarily the same as for
adults (see the hair loss
section). The most common hair loss disease for children are
Alopecia
Areata and
Ringworm of the scalp (Tinea Capitis).

If you notice as sudden hair loss with your child, you should see
your pediatric dermatologist or pediatrician immediately.
