Hair piece maintenance

Just like with natural hair, it is essential to have the hair piece maintained on a regular basis. The typical interval is every month, but depending on the provider, hairstyle, material used etc. the interval can vary from weekly to every eight weeks. Costs can range from USD 50 to USD 800 per month for a maintenance program.

The maintenance is not only to maintain the hair piece, but also to get a haircut, color and style your hair if needed, and for users of semi-permanent attachment, to have their hair washed and scalp cleaned thoroughly.

Besides maintenance, you should also maintain your hair piece yourself, to get the best look. This should be done several times a week.

You will need at least two hair pieces, so when one is being repaired, you still have something to wear.

It is recommended that you are free to chose, and change, your hair stylist or technician provider, i.e. that you are not locked into a contract with the hair piece provider.
