A hair piece is an attachment that is put on the head or scalp that will, together with the existing hair, give the appearance of having more hair. Hair pieces have a fine mesh base or a base made from polymers. This is attached to the head on the scalp's balding area. Hairs, either human or synthetic, are then attached to the base to complete it. Once finalized, the hair piece is styled to the look the bearer would like. This can be anything, but it is recommended to get a style that matches your current hair. This will make it look as realistic as possible. Lastly, the hair piece is attached to the head using either clips, adhesive or weaving (or a combination). Hair pieces can take many forms, all ranging in both price and sophistication. Generally, the better the quality the materials are, the better the hair designer is and the higher the price, the more natural the hair replacement will look. However, it also depends on the type of hair piece, how big an area it covers etc. But good quality-made products should be virtually undetectable.
